看完龙应台的大江大海，把我带回了六十年前。那个年头，是在我为人妻，人母之前，而我的人生正在开始。在那个不寻常的时代里，就算是最平凡的人，也有不平凡的故事。我决定把我还记得的片断写下来。或许这可以帮助对历史有兴趣的朋友找到那个大时代的一两片拼图片，也或许我的小辈们有一天也会向龙应台的儿子一样，对他们家族的故事产生兴趣。更或许那些帮助过我的贵人的后人会在互联网上搜寻他们的名字，找到这个部落格而讀到这些轶事。
Long Yin Tai's bestselling book "1949" brought me back to 60 years ago,a time when I was not yet a wife, a mother, and the better part of my life was still ahead of me. In those extraordinary times, even the most ordinary people would have some extraodinary stories. I decided to use this blog to tell my stories, or rather, what's still left in my memory. Maybe they can help the history buffs to find a couple missing pieces of the time, or maybe my children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews may one day be like Long's son Philip, be interested in their family history. Better still, maybe one day a descendant of one of the good folks who helped me would search the internet and be pleasantly surprised to read about their ancestors's good deed.
